Saturday, April 27 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Join the Yollocalli Arts Reach and YOUmedia slam poetry teams as they explore the fundamentals of poetry using hip-hop influences. The teens will perform their original poetry created for the Louder Than A Bomb slam poetry competition.

Yollocalli Arts Reach is a youth initiative of the National Museum of Mexican Art, providing free arts programs to youth throughout Chicago since 1997. Christian Cruz is Yollocalli’s teaching artist and Louder Than A Bomb coach. Poets on the team include Jesse Murphy, Samantha Smyser, Alexis Smyser, Claudia Lopez, Emmanuel Navarro and Yuridia Gutierrez.
